For years l danced to other people’s tune. Never took the
courage to stand up for what l truly felt was right. Didn’t want
to ruffle anyone’s feathers even when l witnessed wrong doings.
I denied who I truly was, sometimes just to fit in when the real
me was screaming let me out! Trying to please everyone is
exhausting and a serious waste of time. God has given us
unique gifts that no other human being can take away. Also
the intelligence to know the difference between right and wrong.
So my question is why do we do it? How high is the price
for fitting in and not speaking out for justice! Some people
have stood by and let it happen for generations because
it never affected their lives personally. Stuck with the same
narrow minded friends, took privileges and freedoms for granted.
How can anyone say l am independent thinker when
you accept unfairness in this world and act like you don’t see it!
Open you’re eyes! There is a price to pay for courage. Sometimes
being unpopular is what it takes. Changing the wrongs in this
world takes effort, ridicule and the loss of so-called friends.
Just because certain people can go anywhere they want to
doesn’t make it acceptable.
Love who you are first, make no excuses for it. Take time
to truly know ones self. Don’t just stay in you’re comfort
zone because things don’t affect you or the neighbor you live
in. Stand up for right when you see wrong is being done.
You don’t want to be judged than don’t judge others because
their skin is darker or lighter.
SPEAK OUT. We all are human beings with the power to
reason and different qualities of our own. You have to love
and respect the inner you first. That’s where it starts. Just
because other people follow suit for convenience doesn’t
mean you have to.
I decided long ago to be me whether people like it or not.
I question what l here and see. There is always two sides
to look at. As they say one size doesn’t fit all.
