This wonderful creature amaze me, so beautiful, so powerful and fast.
Did you know that The cheetah is the world’s fastest land animal. There are less than 8,000 cheetahs left in the wild, making the cheetah Africa’s most endangered big cat.
Process:
- I love to start with a sweet background to kick things off. I use paper with ink and tea marks i made myself, i crush the paper to give it an old book feel and then scan it, it make such a nice background.
- Bring in some mild colors for fill of the cheetah, using earthy skin colors.
- Bring a little white lines to start showing details of legs, tail and face.
- Dropping a sweet white outline around the creature, i could do it with black but felt like white could be more interesting in this piece.
- Time for spots, i mean come on, what is a cheetah without the spots!?
- Time to pimp the background, throwing some ink spots, drips and drops with custom made brushes i did back in the day, give it a more of a fresh action piece.
- Now lets kick in some color back paint to pump the piece even more, using more ink drops, spray paint splatters and scanned drip and drops i did in watercolors and then scanned for later use.
- Done! now lets give a nice pump overlay with color shades and sharpness in photoshop to get more focus on the center piece, we are ready to go..
So, did you like it? let me know what you think.
rock on and keep shinging
