Alan Hovhaness (1911 - 2000) was an American composer of Armenian-Scottish descent. The result of the composer's immersion is a musical language with a sense of mysticism and spirituality. He integrates the music of many cultures and also uses Armenian modes and elements of Asian music cultures. Hovhaness’ music is mostly tonal.
„Suite for Flute and Guitar“ op. 300 was written 1977, in Seattle, where he lived for the rest of his life.
