In our city, two years ago, a local art school began conducting master classes for adults. After two visits to the lessons, I learned what professional pastel is. Having bought pastel in the store, I began to try to paint at home. All the same at home to draw better, more calmly, no one rushes you and does not indicate time.
In the beginning, I didn’t draw a bright sketch of a drawing with a simple pencil, and then began experimenting with crayons. I admit that in this drawing the most difficult thing for me was to draw a rainbow, because it was not immediately possible to make gradual color transitions. It's good that there is a white chalk, it can be applied to clear edges, grind and get a blurring effect. When the main color fill (sky, hills, road, stone) was ready, I took the gel pen and began to draw the outline where I thought it would be necessary to detail it. The most detailed objects in the figure are the castle and the unicorn. I drew them with a pen and only in some places, to emphasize the shadows, I put pastels. To enhance the shadows on the clouds used a blue and purple pencil. The horizon, merging with the sky, needed to be lightened and I again took white chalk and drew a strip on the border of green with blue, rubbed it with my finger and it turned out a smooth transition.
(Pastel. Gel pen).
