In my last post, I mentioned how interesting hands can be and how they can describe a person as much as a facial expression. In this post, I would like to show a few portraits I have done which can be found in some of my paintings.
I always try to emphasize lighting in my portraits, because I feel it makes them appear that much more real, especially if the light comes from the side. I like to paint people who are unaware they are being watched, at a moment they think they are alone and totally interiorized.
I love portraiture because it gives us the possibility to freeze, in time, in a very personal way, a moment in a person's life.
