In one of my previous posts, I held a contest called Portraits of Vietnam Steemians 2018 to let people in the Vietnamese community nominate others who they like and are inspired by. As a prize for this contest, I drew the steemians nominated by the winning posts in my scribble style drawings as gifts from me for all the great work they have done to help Vietnamese steemians.

For the process of drawing this scribble style, I will show you some of the steps and how I work on creating the drawing. At the beginning, it normally depends on the artists preference if they choose to draw from inside out or outside in, from the eyes first or from other parts first. For me I like to start drawing the general shape and layout first.
Then I add more shadows from the top to the bottom of the drawing
The next step is to add more details for the eyes, nose, mouth and glasses. At this step scribble lines can flow more freely and with more feeling, flying around the drawing as much as you want. The most important rule of this style is from the start to the end, every line must be a scribble and you can not make mistakes! There is no “undo” as the scribbles are drawn in lines of pigment ink.
