Wind has created impacts in our lives, that of plants as well as influenced our activities be it in a positive or negative way but not withstanding it is a wonderful and lovely gift of nature.
On a positive note, it has contributed greatly in the circulation of air, drifting of rains, pushing of water tides, shifting of hail stones, swinging of plants, etc. This has greatly affected our lives and that of plants positively, reason why it is celebrated.
As concerns negative, it has contributed in destroying crops, infrastructure, animals, hurricanes, especially during periods of heavy rainfall, and even causing deaths among unfortunate humans. Interestingly we have learnt over the years to always study the wind direction before constructing, and making or planting wind break trees to safeguard our infrastructure, crops, animals etc.
Therefore, as we #CelebrateGlobalWindDay# we should strive to carry out activities that will contribute in reducing the global effects of wind.
