Steemit - Where It's Okay To Just Be You!

I've used the phrases "adding value to a post" and "original content" a lot over the last year.

Whether it is programming, writing, photography, or graphics not everyone here has a creative or technical niche. I see new users signup everyday and start posting plagiarism, photos that are not theirs under the photography tag, and full copy & paste posts with a link.

Some do it intentionally, some don't take the time to look around and see what is acceptable. Some just feel pressure to produce what they see on 'trending'.

What do I mean by "adding value to a post"?

• If you post a YouTube video of a song... Tell us about it!

• If you post a snippet from somewhere on the web... Talk about it!

What do I mean by "original content"?

• Post a picture of your dog!
  • A Disgusted Zoee
• Tell us about something about yourself!
  • I 💖 Bargain Shopping
• Find a solution to a vexing problem?
  • My Solution: witness node on a chain with 0 blocks

Graphics are nice and grab users attention. There are tons to be found on sites like pixabay. If you don't have time or can't find something appropriate try a signature!

Make friends! Check out groups like Hive account@minnowsupport & Hive account@minnowbooster. There are lots of groups here willing to lend a vote or some advice to minnows.

Part of Social Media is being Social! I say it is okay to "just be you"! I hope those that follow me agree. You won't earn the kind of money Hive account@sweetsssj, Hive account@timsaid, and Hive account@kingscrown make but you might make a friend or two. Who knows? You might stumble discover a creative or technical niche.

Don't forget that commenting can be rewarded. Take the time to write comments that are relevant to the post. Some users enjoy answering questions & others ask questions that they would like to have answered or hear opinions on.

Last but not least - Your post does not have to be in English! Try writing in your native language and include an English translation.
