Hi guys, I'm a newbie to Steemit but liking what I see.
I didn't see many posts on deep space astrophotography, though - probably there, but I couldn't find them - mainly night landscapes and moon shots. I'm no expert at deep space astrophotography as I'm very much still learning but I wondered if there were many other steemit members into this hobby?
I attach an example that I took from my backyard in Perth, Australia, which is of the Rosette nebula, a total of 28 x 30 minute exposures using a combination of 3 narrowband filters (Hydrogen alpha, Oxygen and Sulphur) to give a series of black and white pictures which I then combined in software called Pixinsight to give a colour rendition, with a little polish in Lightroom.
The nebula is about 5,000 light years away and about 130light years in diameter and it formed the stars in the centre from its own matter.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures too
Cheers
Andy
