Since i got my nikon d3200 i started to mess more with astrophotography, i still have only the kit lens and with that one i'm kinda limited on what i can get out of it, in the future i plan to buy myself one 1.8 f lense so i can get more light into the picture with a lover iso thus less noise.
As i live in a fairly urbanised region most of the time i get lots of light pollution on my astro pics, but this summer i was in Iceland, lived in a quite isolated place, and lets just face it Iceland doesn't have that much ppl living there xD
In the last weeks i was there i spend all the night star gazing or just waiting for a spike in solar activity to see the northern lights. On the night of this photo solar activity was particular weak but there were no cloud and the air was super cold so quite a good condition for astrophotography.
Found a nice spot to hide from the light of the dorm where i lived and just waited to get the right shot.
this is the result, i know i know i still suck at post processing xD
F 3.5 exposure 13 sec ISO 2850
