Christmas Gifts
A simple family of two children. Marry and Dany their names. Marry is 12 years old while her brother is 15 years old. Both of them had stopped school because they had no money. But they always read diligently. They do not want to lose the opportunity to seek knowledge. They diligently go to the public library to read after work as a maid in a rich man's house. They also often bring home books that haven't finished reading. From the reading they get, they know a lot about how life in this world. Everything will go well.
They know that December has arrived and that Christmas is coming soon. They are well aware that their parents are very difficult. They are not rich people who will give Christmas gifts to their children.
"We have to give this year's Christmas present," said the eldest.
"Yes, but what suits mom and dad?"
"Maybe the best thing is a stove. Don't you often kill when you cook?"
"Yes, I remember that now Mother always has a hard time having to light a fire."
"But we first count our savings."
After being counted they felt enough to buy a stove. They went to town to buy a stove and put it in the kitchen without their mother and father noticing.
Meanwhile, their father and mother also think of gifts for their two children.
"Our two children will definitely be cold working this winter. We better buy them a scarf and a wool jacket."
"Yes, I agree."
Finally they went to the store to buy two shawls and two warm wool jackets. They wrap it neatly.
Towards christmas this simple family made simple decorations to celebrate Christmas. Although they could not make a large Christmas tree, they made ornaments that were put on the door of the house.
Finally the long-awaited day arrived. Christmas came and the family celebrated with simplicity. After returning from church they gather at home. Their mother took out a packet and gave it to her child.
The brothers were very happy to get gifts from their parents
"Thank you Mama, Papa."
They embraced with emotion.
"Oh yes, today we are going to cook chicken," said the mother.
When mom goes to the kitchen, she sees a package.
"Father, what did you buy?"
"No."
They looked at each other and called for Marry and Dany.
"Try opening it, Ma."
They opened the package. They are very happy to see the new stove for Christmas gifts.
"Marry, Dany. What are you doing?"
"We want Mama not to be upset when she wants to cook."
Tears moved down the cheeks of the two old men.
"Thank God. You give us dedicated children."
They returned hugging each other a sign of happiness.
