Actually, no, we're not taught to just believe. Unlike other religions, Christianity is logical. Christianity is truth. There's no reason to be afraid of any questions.
Questions like: who did Cain and Abel marry? Their sisters. They were able to have children without the kinds of hereditary diseases that they have today.
Why does the Bible creation account take seven days when the earth is billions of years old? It was designed to tell a bronze age people who created everything. So it breaks creation down to individual days. It gives pairs of opposites like water and dry land, light and dark, animals and plants, male and female, etc. It wasn't designed to be a scientific paper.
A good book for the honest skeptic is "Evidence That Demands A Verdict" by Josh McDowell.
A good website is https://bibleevidences.com/
What I see in most atheists is that they're closed minded. They don't want to believe because they love their sins too much. Instead of believing the truth wherever it takes them they choose what to believe based on what it will cost them if they believe.
The good thing is so many atheists are so obnoxious and self-righteous that it turns people off instead of converting them.
