Saturday morning was foggy when I pulled the shades up at 7:30AM. It got pretty warm as the day wore on. They forecast 58F but I think it was much warmer outside.
I got the dehydrator unloaded and got 4 cups of Swiss chard vacuum sealed. Then I got the kitchen cleaned up, my post up, and went to sit down.
The friend I was house plant sitting for called at 10AM and said she was finally ready to bring them home.
So I collected them from all over the house and put them in the kitchen.
Except for the yellow leaves on the peace lily (behind the spider plant) they had all done well.

I hadn’t watered them before they went to keep from flooding her car. I will have my helper friend water all of mine on Tuesday.
Once the car was loaded we sat on the front steps and got caught up with life. It was so nice out there. I came in at 11:45AM and made some lunch and got ready for my window washer guy at 12:30PM.
He didn’t get here until 1PM so I had a bit of rest. He finished the back porch door and trim while I did the door in the laundry room. Then I went over and got 1 side of the door to the back porch done. He did the other side while I went in to disrupted the cat by washing the insides of the office doors. He came in and did the back door out of the office and we were done!
We got cleaned up and got the screens put away safely. He still had 1½ hours to give me, so I had him bring down the 3 boxes of tree decorations. We had laid out the hoses in the sun before starting windows so if there was time we could coil and drain them and put them away.
We got that done and he asked if I had anything else. Most of it was garden stuff, like putting the tomato stakes into the shed and the rain barrel away. So he got that done and headed home.
I was so tired!
But in looking for jobs for him to do, I saw the tarps on the Small garden and looked up to see if the leaves were off the white oak. They are! So I’m hoping next weekend Tom and my #3 intern and I can get the tarps off, washed up, and on the clothesline to dry. The gutter guys are coming later in the month to clean out the leaves.
Besides mulching the Big garden, the other job left is to put the spiral wraps on the Little Trees for the winter, and to clean up the kindling pile before it rains again.
I finally got to sit down for a while, made some supper and watched a Christmas movie. It was so warm inside I didn’t light the fires until 7:30PM. It’s to rain on Sunday and all day Monday so I’ll need them.
My brother was in route from Madagascar on Saturday and he had no idea if he’d get home once he hit the US. So hopefully I will see him on Sunday. On Sunday I hope to get outside as it’s to be sort of warm, and get the kindling pile cleaned up before it rains. I also hope to get some ornaments on the Christmas tree and maybe get some work done on bills/budget. So I’m hoping it will be another productive day.
