Stage 1. I OBLIVIOUS
I believed what I would see on TV, what I was told in school, and what I heard about religion. Work hard, make money (it doesn't grow on trees), climb the corporate ladder (I am defined by how far I climb) buy material things (I am defined by the things I own), etc. and I would be rewarded with a good life. I was told there are bad people all over the world who are out to get me because they hate my freedoms, my cultures or my flavor of religion and that I need to give away massive amounts of earnings from my labor to be protected. I learned that Humanity evolved from violent caveman, and that violence is our nature. I also learned that if I follow the orders of the correct sacred 'Book' I will be rewarded with eternal life, but pick the wrong book or disobey and I will experience an unpleasant and permanent ending.
