Amazingly enough, I didn't have to catch this little guy. He was very chill and just stayed on the fence that went around the pool area in my aunt's backyard. It aloud me to get real close to him getting these pictures while we visited Aunt Karen.
Aunt Karen couldn't wait to send this pic to my Dad in Sarasota. She said, "HA HA I got to be the first to hug and kiss your grandson before you did." We sure did have a good time visiting Aunt Karen.
Anyone who has ever been to Florida knows Florida is inundated with lizards. The Caribbean Anoles for the most part. The Green Anoles aren't as common. They are skinnier and have a longer snout than their Caribbean cousins. They change their colors too from Green to brown which is pretty cool. However they are NOT chameleons. If you have ever been to Florida and handled one of these lizards then you know. The Caribbean Anoles change their colors too when you catch them but they don't turn green. They just stay brown and gray and sometimes even black. If you live in Mexico, the other southern states, or any of the islands in the Caribbean then I'm sure you've seen these lizards all over the place.
Another fun fact: Anoles make great earrings too! If you know what I mean HA HA. Sadly I didn't get any pictures hanging a couple of these lizards from my ears like I used to do as a kid growing up. I'm sure as Maverick gets bigger and we visit Florida again in the future I will get more cute pictures of him and myself with these lizards.
Next stop on our Florida vacation is the beach! And then to Sarasota.
As always I'm Theo aka Rainbow Man and here is the PROOF!!!
PROOF of Green Anole.
Thanks for looking and joining Maverick on his first trip to florida.
