Went back again to this scared land. Never gets old, the sheer scale is breathtaking! Went to a town called Drumheller and was working in a place called Horsethief Canyon. It's easy to understand how one might disappear forever in this endless landscape.
Layer upon layer of bentonite and coal and earthen soils. Originally this area was inhabited for Coal mining, but the unforgiving landscape holds many different kind of Sage Bush and flowers with crocuses in the spring. Larger tribes have been here. Some say only fool will stay. Fun to visit, but Canadian winters will suck all life out of here un-tell it wobbles the other way!
I come here often with my metal art as a gift to the land, to some how make it even more spectacular. Although the vastness of this place is hard to out do or add to. I think later today if your around I might share some of my metal work photograph in these Badlands. I wish I could bring some of my larger sculptures here. One day I tell myself.....
A great visit this past week. Trying to break limits on how high you can be can be a challenge in the BadLands.
It's hard to not feel small in the vastness, but next week we climb mountains.
As usual I wish I took more photos, I did however collect some Sage for the workshop!
Well thanks as always for supporting my work! You and Steem are making me and my art so much better. And for this I thank-you!
