Cox's Bazar is the world's longest-running beach and the main tourist center of the country. Its ancient name is Palangi. Under the British rule, Hiram Cox was appointed a director of Palakkad, a former East India Company officer.
Captain Cox tried to resolve many old conflicts among Arakan refugees and local indigenous Rakhains and played an important role in the rehabilitation of refugees. But before the end of the work, before the death of 1799 To keep his work memorable, a local market was named after him.
