After a few manic weeks/months getting packed up in the UK, getting back to Thailand and settled in, I thought it was high time to get these posts going - as I long intended. Essentially life got in the way of doing more with the NewtonClassics website until now. Originally intended to document my time back in SW Devon, UK. (I still have a lot of photos and a few stories to be written up from there, which I'll post later). I put most of it on hold however, until I got back here. Mostly from Thailand is where I'll be making and posting all my content from now on, since the location is so rich in providing it to the camera lens every day. I work alongside and for the BitShares project (bitshares.org) in my main role and dayjob. I carry an iPhone XS for it's superior camera quality everywhere I go, stop for 2 mins to take photos of anything that grabs my eyes. Another long story how 21 months 'stuck in my homelands', meant I seemed to have unlearnt everything, regained my identity, then ended up forgetting absolutely everything again before relearning it all and remembering the other 17 years I've spent in SouthEast Asia, all in under a month. It was a very colourful (and slightly hedonistic) Christmas & New Year holidays. Here's the photos I took, just in Bang Saray. Now 2022 is here, the holidays are over, the real work begins. Plus saving for a Canon .... more soon!
See Instagram.com/@rosswlkr for more, plus car / gearhead content I'll be posting on here now also. Happy New Year ....
Glad that's out the way then. Here's some pictures of Bang Saray throughout December 2021 and New Year 2022.
Manga and Hubba cafe
Firm favorite with parking and a free buggy ride back and forth to this gorgeous Thai - Western fusion Cafe. Light, healthy meals and very competitive prices.

Breakfast at Manga & Hubba
Bang Saray sunsets are frequently mind blowing. Like 6 days a week, it's ridiculous.
Sunsets seldom dissapoint here
From the far end of the beach, close to 'THE BEACH' Restaurant / beach house. https://www.thebeachbangsaray.com/
Chang Chang Mansion also has a nice spot to watch the sun go down
ChangChang have cheap and clean rooms for an overnight stay, colourful entertainment, good food and friendly staff. Mixture of local and expat crowd. Great for late afternoon to late evening.
At the end of the soi opposite the main market
Right across the road from ChangChang, more nice sunsets.
2 temples one at the beach, this one at the entrance from Sukhumvit road on top of a hill with mountain views
During daytime, using sunglasses lens as a filter
Big Buddha at the hilltop temple
The 2 temples in Bang Saray are open to the public to look around. Dress and act respectfully, no bras flip-flops or singlets ...
Views at the Big Buddha Temple
Statue to King Rama VI keeps a watchful eye over the town to the headland out to sea, warding off invaders ...
Another spot on one of the old town piers
Bang Saray is deceptively long beach and there are several interesting spots for a sunset. This cafe offers a 100thb ticket to access the spot with a drink and a chance to win a nights stay in the Kept Bang Saray stylish resort.
This lifesize beach sculpture of a sperm whale which swims out there in the gulf got a repaint not long ago
Dusk on the fishing piers
As night falls, I realise I soon need a Canon ... so many opportunities to come
Happy New Year
From the bible, not that I'm strictly religious, I just like some of the wisdom .... especially despite being 2000 years old or more, religious texts can still place sense into our present situations and reality. Same goes for Buddhism, which helps explain why I'll quote both fairly often.
"So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
