Feeling the sea breeze coming off a 9 hour over night flight accompanied by the warm sun was my first taste of Barcelona. After leaving the airport we found the busses and trains to be help fun to getting around town. Once settled in Barcelona had a ton of tapas and cervezas to offer! We roamed the streets with fun stops of beers and small plates of montaditos and tapas.
Enjoying the great weather and diverse streets of Barcelona, small bars and empanadas powered our journey of learning about the different social interactions tourist and locals could enjoy. Each restaurant offered cultures and communities from around the globe. Coming from South Florida I do see a lot of cultures as I did in Barcelona but was exposed to a few new cultures and their prized dishes.
Traveling with Euros in my pocket for the first time, I enjoyed the history and subtle contemporary differences from the United States. People seemed to have more time to enjoy their food, the scenery and their peers. Being from south Florida a lot of people are constantly in a rush and pushing for much more. I felt a slight bit of relaxation from a more natural flow of life in Europe!
