#368 - Going to the Amphitheater of Batad.
Before going through the shots taken in the rice terraces of Ifugao, let me first share our experience yesterday when we arrived here in the city of pines. After completing our booking process at the bus station we went straight to the hotel I had booked on the first week the month then we left our stuff there around two in the afternoon then went out to look for restaurants that are not fully booked yet to have our lunch at two pm 😅.
The first one we wanted to try is the restaurant called Good Taste because they offer large servings of meals for a cheap price of only $2-$3 per person, not bad right? Their restaurant is just above the Burnham Park which is on a higher elevation since the city was built on mountains, but unfortunately even at two in the afternoon the line of people going in for lunch is too long, it was like there are hundreds of people outside waiting for their turn to get it, it's holiday season so it's pretty much understood that families come here gor their vacations. The traffic of vehicles is also worsening so it's better to just walk going places to save travel time.
Since the restaurant was full, they have another one which is at Dangwa bus terminal so we went there, there was also a line of people but not that many compared to the first branch, we were like with 30 people only so we patiently waited for less than an hour and had our meal past three in the afternoon 😂. It was worth the wait, we had our stomach full already, finally! Then we went out for a boat ride and also sight seeing at the park.
Moving on to our topic of today's photos, sharing some shots of the famous Batad amphitheater with a flower in the main focus. It was beautiful what the locals did there, they also planted these type of flowering plants I think daisies on the embankments of their rice terraces. What an amazing 🤩 view, one in a lifetime experience that is still stuck in my head. I could spend the whole day just staring at this view from up the mountain top while also inhaling fresh air coming from the trees in the forests surrounding us.
The side view of the rice terraces made up of stone walls to make sure that the rice terraces is sturdy and can with stand the test of time. Our objective is to get to the top left of the frame which gives the eye view of the first photo above with the flowers.
A lot of visitors are already here ahead of us, some just arrived while others are there observing the view in silence without talking to their buddies, same thing I did when we went to the top of the mountain, just stand there and no words at all, just my eyes looking around in all angles.
On our way to viewpoint with our guide leading the way on the concrete path.
This is the farthest part of the mountain I could get to to take the photos and selfie with my wife. There is still s higher elevation but didn't go far as I am already satisfied with whatever is infront of my eyes.🥰
