The Joker is dead, cremated by the Gordon himself.
9 months later… crime actually fell in Gotham. Gordon’s instincts told otherwise. A few ounces of Scarecrow’s latest toxin turned a diner into a slaughter house. People were at each other’s throats, each seeing a different nightmare.
Crane made an open threat in a broadcast for the people of Gotham to flee and for that only a day was provided. The threat worked, in just a day Gotham went from hosting 6.6 million people to not so many.
Those who were left were scum, criminals and worse. The sort that enjoys chaos.
The GCPD is still operational.
Batman meets Gordon and gives him his advanced walkie-talkie. Batman receives intel about military personnel roaming in the streets from him but didn’t know that his daughter was still in town. Batman bolted towards it. From the driver, he secured an uncontaminated sample of Crane’s toxin. Gordon’s now works from the Clock Tower. Batman then hits one of the safehouses of the militia that withheld Poison Ivy. Apparently, she was immune to the toxin. She had created spores that countered the effect of the toxin. Batman asks her about her detainment. She admitted that there was a meeting. Penguin, Two-Face, Riddler, Harley and Scarecrow. Their agenda, to take out the Batman and take over Gotham. Ivy was not interested in Scarecrow’s plan so he had her locked up. Although his toxin had no effect on her. Ivy gets into the elevator but her shoots captured the Bat and takes him away. At the basement, Batman was patiently waiting for her. The militia ambushed them with infantry and unmanned tanks moments after he picked her up. The Batmobile jumped into action, it was remotely controlled by the Knight. He brings Ivy to the GCPD isolation chamber. Gordon provides more information about the city’s state, unsolved murder mysteries, missing fire crews and about Riddler’s whereabouts.
Main Story Continues…
Batman meets Barbara at the clock tower. There they find the find that the toxin creates a unique radiation spike. The satellite would take hours to get into position so Batman got his car up the side of a building and in front of the control panel. The panel had no power so Batman ordered a power winch for the car from Lucius that would hold onto things. The radio tower is secured, now for the microwave tower. A hostage situation presented itself. Batman requests for the new Bat suit V 8.03 from Fox that allowed him to move faster than the enemy could react.
The hostage and the tower both were secured. The toxin released a unique spike radiation. He released a batarang that helped run a scan in the city. Both the towers converged in one place, ACE chemicals. That is where the toxin was being manufactured!
Batman reunites with Gordon outside ACE chemicals. The Arkham Knight appears with a chopped and blasts the part of the bridge that connects to the place. Batman locates all the remaining members using the security panel through his batarang’s scanner. All the places were heavily guarded considering that this facility was their base of operation in Gotham primarily. When rescuing a hostage the Arkham knight and the Dark Knight faced each other once again only this time up close. The knight knew all about Batman, the type of armour, strategy, associates and even claimed to know how Batman thinks. The Batmobile took out the guys but the knight escaped. The worker informed Batman of Scarecrow’s plan. All the evacuation would have been for naught. Batman rescued him and went for the room where Crane was operating. Scarecrow was cornered so he used a hostage, one of Bruce’s close allies, Barbara Gordon. He threatened to have her executed, just then Batman turned to Barbara and told her to get off of the clock tower. It was too late. Meanwhile Crane made a quick getaway. Batman somehow reduced the toxin level but he was exposed to it himself. His worst nightmare, Joker was stuck in his head. Joker making comments and dark jokes throughout the game. Joker’s skin looked diseased but overtime Joker became more and more healthy. This meant Batman was losing control over himself as time progressed. Batman had received Joker’s blood back in Arkham City but he was not fully cured. Similarly there had been other victims who also received his blood. 4 people had received Joker’s blood and 3 of them had turned into Joker except one, Henry Adams, the guy who showed no changes nor symptoms for which Batman had hope for a cure. Robin continued to work on that but to no avail for the most part of the game. This was all in Batman’s flashback when Gordon had visited the Panessa studios. After regaining consciousness he quick got out of the crumbling facility.
Bruce gives the news of Barbara to Gordon. He gets furious and sets out for crane. A high speed chase between the militia and Gordon takes place so Batman escorts Gordon to the clock tower. Then, the trusted butler, Alfred Pennyworth, report the situation about the 3 islands. Each one had ground unit and stronghold, rooftop secured with sentry guns and land bombs. The militia had infiltrated the tower but not for long. Batman later exposed to Gordon about Barbara. That she worked for him. Furious, Jim punches the Bat and throws the communication device and leaves saying that he by himself would find her. Batman uses the computer to find out the type of type the car had and used the Batmobile’s forensic scanner to scour the road for the track. He reached Mercy bridge and asked Alfred to lower it. He reaches the crash site. He reconstructed the events that had happened using his evidence scanner and found the clue left by Barbara, a scrambler device. Through Lucius the device was decrypted and the Knight’s voice print was scanned throughout Gotham. Here, Alfred gives intel about 2 characters, Azrael and Firefly. The voice print matched and came from an underground tunnel network in Miagani Island. Batman gets into the tunnel filled with militia and enters the control room with subtlety but found nobody. The knight dropped from above and punched the knight on entry to the ground. He examined the new suit of Bruce’s and shot him in the hip. Batman quickly administered a stim shot of sort to get back on his feet. The infantry moved into the room and the knight flees. Batman took out the brutes, medics, and soldiers and chases the Knight with the Batmobile only to find that the driver had used a voice changing device. The driver spills the beans when “pressured” by the bat.
He also said that Penguin supplied the guns to the Knight through the refrigeration trucks, the name of the company is called North Refrigeration. Dick Grayson has been tracking this company for some time now. He arrives from Bludhaven and finds out all the trucks for Batman that lead to the cache of Penguin.
This is where Penguin had Simon Stagg come into the bargain. Alfred brought up everything about him in the table, a pharmaceutical magnet, CEO of Stagg Enterprises.
On his arrival to the airships, he saw the militia took over the airship and had set up a watch tower with salary guns. Regardless, the master of subtlety enters the ships after taking out the tower guards. On his search in the ship, he made use of a gadget that made the drones target the enemy themselves. Batman found that the militia cornered Stagg. Batman took out the swarm of militia and questions Stagg to which he plays dumb until Batman’s effect of the toxin kicks in.
The militia transferred Stagg to the other airship after his episode. Batman collects the fingerprints through the detective scanner and constructed his handprint. He collects the location of the prints by using the security footage. He accesses the security mainframe and overrides the sentry system. Then he takes out the sentry gun guarding the other airship. Batman found Stagg again, only this time he was locked up in a den of militia. This time Stagg confesses his indulgence with Scarecrow once again but this time Bruce almost lost control over himself as Scarecrow gave him another dose of fear toxin. This gave Crane the opportunity to escape once again, he took the front part of the airship that was attached with cylinders along with the Arkham Knight who was in the chopper that carried Crane.
This is half the story of the Arkham Campaign. Stay tuned for the second half along with the extras and DLC review!
