This is the second part of the review of Arkham Knight campaign.
Crane made a broadcast about the location Barbara. Batman dashed there only to witness that she killed herself. She was intoxicated with the fear toxin. All of which was Batman’s fear. In reality, none of this happened. Bruce was in an empty room but he didn’t realize until later. He informed of the matter. Both of them were heartbroken. Alfred advised Bruce that Gotham still needed the Batman. He describes the cloudburst as it being a dispersal device it could engulf the whole of the city with the fear toxin. Bruce came up with a solution. He used Ivy as the first line of defence for Gotham as she was immune to the toxin. Ivy agrees to help reluctantly and they head for the botanical gardens. As they headed out of the GCPD a cobra tank made itself known. Batman scans for weak points and finds one, the rear exhaust part that leads to the power core. With the Batmobile, a well timed shot, and pinpoint accuracy he takes it out. Lucius notifies that the next upgrade for the car is available. On the way to the gardens in Miagani Island, he found a few more cobra tanks patrolling the vicinity. Ivy alerts Batman that the tree is not capable of handling Scarecrow’s toxin. Not many are left like this ancient tree. Batman vows to search for the others ones. An ancient root system would be buried deep within the ground hence he asked Lucius to make a powerful sonar that would penetrate deep underground to get the image of the root network. Lucius said to drop by under the Wayne Tower parking garage to receive the upgrade. Alfred informs of Two-Face’s activities in the Banks of Gotham. Somehow the militia barged into the Wayne Tower underground facility. Batman and Batmobile proved themselves once again. The sonar is equipped and he finds the plant through the roots and breaks it free from the constrains it was held at.
Alfred still couldn’t find the location of the cloudburst. Alfred prepares the analysis of the Arkham knight’s forces and uploads it to the Batcomputer, at the movie studios. Robin was still present, researching for the cure along with Henry Adams. There he finds that Founder’s island had two radar towers connected to a long range missile launcher that could decimate the Batwing or Batmobile. A special drone managing all the communication in the area. Batman finds it and used it blind militia drone for a period of time. He then took out the first radio tower with easy. The second tower had the long range missile launcher that was guarded with shield. There were people guarding it, he took them out and lowered the bridges to bring his car/tank in remotely. A sizable amount of Cobra tanks were deployed. Ho proficiently took all of the them down. He was about to raise a bridge that would help him position the car in front of the launcher but Arkham knight’s forces moved in along with him. He wrested the extras and went 1 on 1 with the knight. He flees the scene leaving the dark knight in the control room. The Batwing is free and soars the sky scouring for the cloudburst. The complete analysis is present in the clock tower’s computer. This way information is distributed between the places and so Batman’s gross intel in secured. The Batwing found no trace of the cloudburst in the Founder’s island. Henry sends a distress signal saying the studios was being attacked. Harley presented herself.
She proclaimed that Batman was keeping the new generation of Joker to himself. She had the whole place under lockdown. Bruce used his voice calibration and synthesized Harley’s voice print. He enters the place but has an episode of Joker in the elevator. He and Robin takes down the thugs and retrieves the Joker version from the different movie set they were in. Christina bell was easy to apprehend. Johnny Charisma sand a song to ‘lighten’ the room. This is where Batman hallucinated Charisma to be the actual Joker where the Joker sings about his dead girlfriend Talia and the events at Arkham City. Albert King was looking for a rematch. He was later carried by Robin to the lobby. There were times when Batman had flashbacks about Jason Todd, the previous Robin. How the Joker got to him and that he was tortured and killed in the end. Joker sent the footage to the Bat where he supposedly killed Robin. On the way to the lobby they found Harley with her thugs.
She was carried by the Bat. When they reached the lobby they saw that Charisma and Bell was killed. No confirmation was needed to know that all the happening were due to Henry, he changed the security system. He kills Albert King while explaining the survival of the fittest and also exclaims that he was simply purifying the gene pool. He coerced Batman toward the corner by holding Harley hostage and was about to shoot Bruce when he saw Bruce’s eyes. Turns out Batman was also turning into the Joker. Seeing this Henry shot himself as a better version of the Joker had appeared.
Batman let Robin lock him up in the cell. Batman got out somehow and saw another flashback on how Jason had turned against him. It ended and Robin urged the to get inside the cell. He in turn locks Robin instead and cut his comms device to Alfred and others. Still no update about the cloudburst. Another upgrade has been installed. 2 more events occurred. Alfred reports: unusual seismic activity in Miagani island and Lucius is not answering the call. Ivy gave away her location when she wrecks the unmanned tanks. A full force of the unmanned tanks arrived at the scene with range missile launchers. Batman and Ivy bested them all. Batman tried to convince Ivy to relocate as she was expose but she promptly refused. Just then Alfred reports the state and location of the cloud burst. Within moments the cloud burst was activated.
The whole of Gotham was swallowed by a layer of fear toxin gas clouds.
Ivy decided to stay behind with her tree. Batman sought out Stagg in his airship but it fell under the control of militia again The security system was updated so Batman synthesized Stagg’s voice print. The coward hid from the militia but could not from the knight’s detective mode as his hand print was still with Batman. He explains how the cloudburst has a nimbus field and is only an amplifier for the fear gas and any vehicle on using a nimbus power cell would be fried.
He then “gives” Bruce the nimbus power core. Then came the risky deal for Bruce. He somehow managed to replace the power core of the Batmobile while within the gas, some victim of the toxin tried to attack Bruce. Ivy points another plant that could clear the toxin. Batman made his way to Port Adams and headed to the underground tunnel. Militia presence was imminent at Port Adams. There the plant was revived. A large drone squadron was sent to demolish the but was wasted. Furious, the Arkham Knight challenged Batman for a faceoff. Batman asks Alfred to raise the bridges in Bleak Island. He battled the knight in his cloudburst tank and a few cobra unit that now had a full 360 rotation to prevent the Batmobile to creep up behind them. The cloudburst was destroyed but Bruce saved the Knight.
He escaped the scene before Bruce’s started to hallucinate Joker again. With cloudburst gone, the amplification of the toxin was reduced Ivy made the ultimate sacrifice and cleared the whole toxin clouds for Gotham and replaced it with dandelion type of flower.
Alfred found a SWAT channel that was used by Gordon. His location was exposed by the frequency. Gordon was captured by the militia in the abandoned shopping mall. They escorted Gordon to a safe spot underneath the mall. Batman entered the site through another long route using his car. He enters a tunnel network and finds that the Arkham knight was using a giant mine exploring car. There were explosives attached with the cave of the mine that dented the Knight’s vehicle. In the end, the knight cornered the Bat and revealed that he knew Batman’s identity before crushing his car. Bruce came to rescue Gordon, there he was reunited with Jason. The Joker expressed his feeling, how he was so easily replaced. Bruce tied to explain to him how the Joker had sent a video about him dying, the truth. Jason snapped and took a sniping position but Bruce took him by surprise. Batman beats the Knight and tried to patch things up. He escaped as Bruce notifies the situation to Alfred who was also gobsmacked on hearing the news. Bruce and Gordon made their way to the top where Crane was. Crane reveals that Barbara was still alive to Batman and he made Gordon to turn on Batman who fell from the roof. Crane captures Gordon and pushes Barbara off the edge. Batman came for the rescue. They were surrounded by the unmanned tanks. Thankfully, Lucius made a spare Batmobile and had installed all the previous and new upgrade. They were saved and Brue brings Barb to the GCPD. There they found that the militia entered the server room in the Clock Tower. Without it, Gordon couldn’t be tracked. Batman secured the tower and reconnected Oracle to the mainframe. They tracked Scarecrow but until Gotham Bay northside.
Meanwhile, militia launched an all out assault on the GCPD building using the ground unmanned tanks.
Some managed to bypass all the way to the main entrance of the lockups. A sight to too see, Batman took them down one by one. The backup generator was busted that was behind the GCPD building. The other generator was on the one floor of underground of GCPD. There too militia was present. He used the remote electrical charge to turn on the generator. Next, the unmanned tanks were all that was left. They were taken down more easily as Oracle kept hacking the militia drone, made emp bursts and imploded.
Then, the final charge was made through the roof. There too, Oracle took down militia using the environment traps and even the elite militia fell before Batman.
An alert was sent from the movie studios system was sent to Oracle, Gordon’s voice was used. Scarecrow had taken Robin as well. He was a caged bird.
Scarecrow makes Batman give himself up. Bruce enters a small apartment and lets go of his utility belt and hops in the back of the van. There he was gassed again but it was only later Batman realised. There he saw his parent’s death and finally snapped Joker’s neck in the fantasy. The truck brings him to the Arkham Asylum. There, Scarecrow chains him and broadcasts the whole thing as he gets unmasked by Gordon. Then, he doused Bruce with fear toxin.
His worst nightmare, Joker burning the whole of Gotham and taking himself over. There, Joker kills Croc, Penguin, Riddler and Two-Face and another 100 men. Scarecrow expected Bruce to show fear but Joker syndrome had taken over him and starts to laugh maniacally when Crane threatened Bruce about Gotham and all it’s citizens. Confused, Crane gave another dosage while Bruce continues to laugh.
This time, Joker’s worst nightmare, him being forgotten by everyone and the Batman tearing down everything Joker stood for and locking him away from his mind. Batman is cured and Scarecrow is left bewildered, again as he gave another portion of fear toxin while proclaiming his victory in the broadcast. Batman declares that he was not afraid. Desperate, Crane pulls a gun to Bruce’s head. Jason, who had been tracking Bruce the entire time, shoots off Crane’s gun and a cuff on Batman’s hand. Bruce overpowers Crane in brute strength and makes him take his own toxin. Crane’s horror was being in a room full of bats and one vengeful, mean looking Batman.
Gordon punched him to sleep.
Batman asks Jim to look after Robin, to look after them all(caped heroes and vigilantes alike). He also admitted Jim being his best friend.
Through the Batwing, Batman brings Crane to the GCPD who was still under the influence of the toxin. Bruce tells Alfred to initiate the knightfall protocol, voice confirmation: Martha, his mother’s name. Bruce leaves his mask at the bat signal. The GCPD force heads out to detain the rioters as the major threats were eliminated.
The Batwing wills in the car along with Bruce. He enters the mansion, Alfred already present to greet him. His mask off, in his Batsuit. Huge reporters were outside the mansion. Moments later the whole mansion explodes, leaving the TV crew speechless.
Gordon visits the batsignal, the view of peace and prosperity was vivid. He narrates that nobody knew who killed Bruce Wayne.
A darker Batman rose to a similar incident like Thomas and Martha Wayne. Only this time a new terrible Bat that oozed with a dark aura emerged from the grim rooftop.
