Basic Attention Token
Summary
Based on Ethereum, Basic Attention Token (BAT) utilizes locally stored data to display advertisements to users. Advertisers pay BAT to web publishers in exchange for attention from their audiences. In essence, the utility of the token is derived from user's attention. In May of 2017, BAT held an ICO, raising roughly $35 million in under 30 seconds. Basic Attention Token is comprised of many aspects, including machine learning, analytics, and attention measurement systems. Their mission is to create a more transparent, less fraudulent digital advertising industry.
Brendan Eich, founder of Basic Attention Token, also co-founded Mozilla and Firefox. Additionally, Eich invented the Javascript programming language.
