A "Baumkuchen" is a German speciality, but there are similar cakes in various European countries. First "Baumkuchen" have already been made in ancient Greece.
In our summer holidays we visited the "Baumkuchenhaus" in Wernigerode im Harz, Saxony-Anhalt - and we liked it very much!
