- Volcan Miravalles, Las Hornillas
Thought I would do a more personal blog today and show you some pictures from my trip to Costa Rica last year.
What an adventure this trip was. The picture above is a non active volcano that was quite the trip to get too, up over 10,000 feet. There was just 1 beautiful restaurant here but I was so nausea from the uphill drive that I couldn't even eat the delicious food. The food everywhere was really good though.
The country has a mantra called Pura Vida...which means Pure Life. They have a high importance on health, life and doing this natural. There are limited designated spots where you can only smoke, anywhere else is illegal. The country has no standing army. It was constitutionally abolished in 1949.
- Catarata Llanos De Cortes: such beauty this waterfall. Had to track through a bit of forest before reaching this spot. You can walk behind the waterfall and there is a spot where you can lay down on some flat rocks while the water falls on yourself giving you a nice massage. =)
Howler monkey's. These were the coolest!! So many right beside our hotel. If you clap and howl, they all do the same back. Every morning you can hear them in the trees howling so loud. Loved it!!
There are over 130 species of fish, 220 of reptiles, 1,000 butterflies (10% of the world’s butterfly's are in Costa Rica!), 9,000 plants, 20,000 species of spiders and 34,000 species of insects!
Me and my lovely girlfriend went for a peaceful horse back ride through the forest.
Costa Ricans call themselves Ticos and Ticas
Such amazing nature everywhere!!
More than 25% of Costa Rican land is protected national parks and refuges.
400 year old tree!
Costa Rica takes up .03% of planet’s surface but holds 5% of its biodiversity!
I hope this post has brought you the feeling of Pura Vida Life!
Do not hesitate to visit this magical place.
Keep in mind the weather showed all rain and thunderstorm for everyday. I believe it always does show this but the weather is beautiful, food is delicious, the diversity is vast and the people are so friendly.
Have a great day all!
