I don´t know if you knew already, but I am originally from Munich, Germany. - So my contribution for this weeks BeachWednesday is about how we used to enjoy our "beach" there!
Now it is still summer time, which means that most of the people enjoy the sun at our beautiful park: The English Garden.
This is one of the biggest parks on earth with 4,17 km². - Even bigger than Central Park or Hyde Park.
Most of us went there, to enjoy the sun and swim in the little river "Eisbach". Of course you also get ice cream and snacks everywhere.
Others go for a run, play football or just relax.
For those, who like to drink a good bavarian beer or want to eat a Schnitzel, we have a great beer garden at our chinese tower.
Maybe on your way to that place, you already see a few people walking around with surf boards. - Actually you may see them also in the streets of the city center, which is really close.
They are also heading to the big park, but with another purpose - they want to surf on one of the two waves.
The wave for beginners is located right next to the Chinese tower. It is a bit hidden from the public and more of an insider spot. -Most of the tourists think that there is just one wave ;)
The other one is the famous one. It is already well known from tourists, because VIPs like Jack Johnson went there to surf.
The Eisbachwelle (=wave of river Eisbach) is located right next to the Prinzregentenstraße. This is the place, where the pros are surfing.
This is me a few days ago, having a try. I used to go here very often, when I was younger, but haven´t have a lot of practise since then ;)
Here a video of some of the professionals surfing :)
I hope you liked the post and I am always grateful for your Upvote, Resteem & Follow as you are supporting my world trip with it and I use the power as a curator for BeachWednesday and SunThursday
Have a great rest of the week!
Cheers, Liz
