Scarborough Beach. (Click to enlarge image.)
This is my entry for #beachwednesday organized by and initiated by
Scarborough Beach is MY beach........well, not entirely mine as I have been known to share it with my neighbours from time to time and I will let day-trippers come and relax, swim, picnic, play cricket and whatever 'floats their boat' during weekend and public holidays. I live just across the road from this little slice of heaven and know how very blessed I am to all that it has to offer on a daily basis.
Scarborough beach overlooks Moreton Island to the east. It is a suburb of Redcliffe in Queensland, Australia and is well known for its popular seafood industry. The boat harbour is a hub of activity especially in the weekends where fishing, kayaking, jet ski-ing are popular. This image was captured on the northern point of Scarborough which is not far from the Marina, the Boat Club and Holiday Village. The marina is home to cruise boats, scuba charters and tour operators. Scarborough beach is a popular destination for holiday makers and was named Australia’s Friendliest Beach in 2004. The parks and esplanades provide great bike tracks and walkways and the village has a wonderful selection of restaurants, cafes and shops.
