One of the Beatles most innovative tracks. Varispeeded recording, backwards vocals, blistering drums, relentless bass, crunchy guitars, it's all there. Recording began two days earlier, and the last overdubs and final mix was finished on April 16th in 1966.
Right at the end, you'll hear John singing backwards. Turn it around and you'll have this:
"Rain" was released as a B-side to the single "Paperback Writer" on May 30th in 1966. Almost exactly 25 years later, on June 10th in 1991, this was aired:
Although (probably) unrelated, it somehow makes sense.
