Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, Russia will be the tallest bulding in Europe when the contruction work is finished
Lakhta Center is in the northwestern corner of St.Petersburg on the coast along the motorway towards Finland. The skycraper will be 462 m tall. It is already that tall but the uppermost floors are not completely ready yet. The building will be ready for use in the third quarter of this year.
Lakhta Center will be the new headquarters of Gazprom. It was designed by the British architect Tony Kettle.

St. Petersburg is a photographer's paradise. Designed by European top architects of the time, it is full of extremely beautiful buildings and palaces. I've been there a few times. I think one of the most beautiful places in the world is the Peterhof Palace about 20 km to the southeast of the city centre. One of the great things about a place like central St. Petersburg is that the entire area is designed according to timeless architectural principles with everything having just the right proportions offering so many opportunities for the perfect shot everywhere that it is hard to decide what to shoot.
