Well it's that time again. Kicking up another Beer Saturday, hosted by @Detlev.
Today's Docket: Russian Imperial Stout by Baltika
A deep rich porter with hints of molasses, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor lasts a long time and takes the taste buds for a little ride. You can definitely tell it's barrel aged.
From the Brewer
"This is our modern perusal of the authentic historical style. It absorbed the XIX century atmosphere of St. Petersburg’s porter houses, smell of London casks traveling through Baltic sea and a soupçon of American craft accent."
That's a pretty telling description.
I see this beer every couple of months or so and it's a treat to pick up a couple. It pours very dark brown and has a tan head that dissipates quickly. I can't say enough about the different types of flavors contained in this brew.
A Russian Porter in a Canadian Pint Glass
With some South American inspired coffee in the background....
I'm lucky.
I was glad to get out today during the "stay at home" order. Liquor stores are considered "essential"... We all had to wear masks in the store, stay 6ft. Apart, and the employees wiped down the counter after each transaction. There were alot of people buying essentials.
I have alot of work to do tomorrow including another post on the Hive/Coinbase challenge and setting up broadcasts for next week.
I hope you all are doing well during these chaotic times. My your cup be forever full.
Cheers!
John
