"YOU'RE NOT WORTHY" Declares the Black ale can with the white devilish imp in front of a red background.
This mean looking little guy is well muscled and ill-tempered.
Let's take a look at the back of the can.
Boldly stated on the back is a challenge and a warning:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to something safer and more familiar territory-maybe something with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it is made in a little brewery or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better. Perhaps you're mouthing your words as you read this.
Well, there you have it a challenge and insults from a beer can.
Those talented marketing boys and girls are attempting to make liquid arrogance.
They are 2 for $5 so might as well give it a shot.
The cans come in 1 pint, 3.2 ounces and are 7.2% alcohol.
There is even a Questions or Comments section on the label stating "If you don't like this beer, keep it to yourself--we don't want to hear any sniveling yellow-beer drinking wimps 'cause this beer wasn't made for you".
I will say it has more of a bite on the label than it does when drinking it. Surprisingly it is very smooth and well rounded. It pours a nice full head that sticks to the sides of the glass) and doesn't have a bitter aftertaste.
Arrogant Bastard Ale is a good sipping beer and one I wouldn't be too afraid of. This one is a keeper and is one to try if you have the opportunity.
I would recommend pouring in a glass but it would be almost as good out of a can.
