It is around 90 degrees here and the humidity is very high so it feels hotter. Historically we receive around 57 inches of rainfall yearly. In 2018 there were 75.22 inches just of rain, which broke previous records.
This year I have heard that we have already surpassed the typical 57 inches and we have 7 months to go. This morning the radio people said we needed more rain because it was too dry. The heat is drying up the rainwater.
What does this have to do with a beer can?
I have never tried this brand of beer before.
When it is this hot a beer, and some air conditioning sure does feel good. We just had a new AC unit installed before the heat hit.
I have looked at this beer called "UPRISING" HI-WIRE, many times and thought I would give it a try.
It is brewed here locally and the can says "Uprisin' is a traditional Hefeweizen with just the right balance of banana, clove and peppercorn spice. Brewed with North Carolina grown wheat from Asheville's Riverbend Malt House, this hazy straw colored beer is perfect for any lazy summers day"
I will let you judge the color and haziness for yourselves.
I am a Hefeweizen fan. I particularly enjoy Wehenstephaner Hefe better. I think it has a more floral taste and it finishes better.
Uprising is good. Some of the pros are: It is a little less pricey than some of the German beers. It has a Hefe taste and it is unfiltered. It is also 5% and that is good. The VOODOO RANGER has 10% and it is a little high on the alcohol content for me. 5% makes for an enjoyable beer.
Cons: It is still around $10 for a six-pack in some places which is high in my opinion. It was on sale for $8.88 (22.8342 Steem) but still a little high compared to some other local beers. The main thing about Uprisin' is it has kind of a bitter aftertaste. Not trying to be a beer snob.....I realize it is not a fine wine. It just doesn't have the smoothness that I like in a Hefe.
The can says "Less hops, Less Malt, Light Color". Your eyes are not blurry my picture is. After a number of these, your eyes may be a little blurry.
I will say if or another fine friend from Steemit stopped by and offered me a High-Wire, Uprisin' I would gladly drink one. If it were any beer and a fine steemit friend stopped by I would gladly partake with you. Being around a Steemit friend would make any beverage or meal taste better.
I am reminded of a cadence we sang in the Army when marching:
tiny bubbles
in my beer
makes me happy
and full of cheer
chorus
your left your left
your left right left
your left your left
your military left
see i don't know
but i been told
that the army
is good as gold
chorus
tiny bubbles
in my wine
makes me happy
all the time
chorus
see i don't know
but i been told
that 3rd platoon
is wearing bloomers
