Matilda Bay Brewing Company

American Pale Ale
History:
The Matilda Bay Brewing Company is Australia's first true craft brewery. Beginning operations in 1984 in Perth, Western Australia, the brewery quickly grew and found great commercial success, eventually being purchased by Carlton and United Breweries in 1990. Under the giant brewer, the company opened other brewery locations across the country to expand their operations.
The original owners of the Matilda Bay Brewing Company went on to open the Little Creatures brewery in 2005.

Drinkers Review:
This beer pours a slightly cloudy pale golden color with about 1cm of thick and creamy white head that doesn't disappear in a hurry. The taste is very hoppy, but not overly bitter and there's also some sweetness there before the very dry finish appears.
Overall it's a decent mass produced APA, with some interesting flavours and a bit of complexity to make it a good entry into the craft beer world. It is an easy drinking beer and hovers between craft beers and the macros. If you like the taste of hops, then you will love this beer. I really enjoy having a few of these from the stubby or on tap, but find that after a few, the flavours can become overwhelming and the enjoyability starts to wane. Overall, it's a very drinkable beer but probably not one that you would want to sit down for a lengthy drinking session with.....
