Greene King brewery have been doing some special beers themed around sport. There have been cricket and soccer brews. The latest at the White Horse is a rugby themed beer called Grubber Golden Ale, to coincide with the Six Nations contest.
It certainly is golden. I wouldn't say the taste was too distinctive. As usual on a Wednesday I was at the pub to play music, so the beer is just to keep me going. This one didn't really stand out, but it was okay. Maybe a 3/5.
The post title refers to a catchphrase of rugby commentator Eddie Waring who was very popular in the 1970s.
