Dogfish Head - 120 Minute IPA | Beer Review

The Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA. For those not familiar, it's one of Dogfish Head’s most popular beers. However, despite it being one of Dogfish Head's most popular beers its surprisingly hard to find. In fact, since its inception in 2003, it's generally only released about twice a year, if that. Thankfully, I was able to find it at a local liquor store after a few calls around.

While you can't find it on the label, this beer hovers between 16% and 18% alcohol by volume, making the strongest IPA on the market! Having earned its name as an "IPA" due to it being continuously hopped for the duration of the 120 minute boil, there a reason why its termed the holy grail for hopheads!

Once opened, you are met with a strong whiff of citrus essence, honey suckle and for lack of a better term, straight alcohol, right out of the gate! Its best served cool to cold, which helps it go down smoother and while it is a bit pricey at about $10 a bottle, its definitely worth it considering it has the strength of about an entire six pack!

So if you're one of the luck ones lucky enough to get your hands on one or a few of these, i'd definitely recommend stocking up! Given the overall quality and strength of this beer its no wonder why it's considered one of the 17 most sought after beers in America according to Business Insider.
