For this week's #BeerSaturday post I stopped into one of my favorite places in Long Beach: Beachwood BBQ. Beachwood has 2 locations in southern California: Seal Beach & Long Beach. A 3rd location, also in Long Beach, is the Beachwood Blendery, which is sour beer central. We will get to the Blendery in a later post; today we focus on the Breweries (which masquerade as BBQs).
Here is the Seal Beach location, located on the quiet end of Main Street, right across from Seal Beach Pier.
And here is the Long Beach location, in the walkable part of town, off beautiful Promenade street, which is turning into quite the brewery attraction in itself.
As you can see by the menu, theyre not kidding around. Every brew here is crafted to be unique.
The brewers were in the back brewing something as I ordered my lunch. I decided to go with an all time favorite: Hops of Brixton. A nice straightforward, slightly bitter, British style ale. The foam dies down a bit by the time I took the picture.
Did I mention the food is fantastic? I had a pastrami with green tomatoes and fried pickles. And a second Brixton Ale.
Cheers!
