BE KIND! The social message we should all Follow.
Social media has became the veins of our existence whether you believe that or not. Day after day we are checking our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter to name just a few.
Our lives have become a showcase for family, friends, colleagues and even strangers.
We are open to opinions all the time but what if what you read is not what you wanted to read?
Can we just switch that off?
Take it on the chin?
Ignore what you have read and move on?
What happens when life is spiralling out of your control and you are reminded of it everyday?
Most often reported reasons for bullying or cyber bullying are sexual orientation, religion, body appearance, facial appearance, race/ ethnicity and gender.
With so may secrets being told and opinions being stated. We have more tools than ever to express our life’s when it comes to using social media. Therefore we have equally opened up the door for negative opinions also.
Social media is the Indistinguishable in life to children of the 21 century. They are born with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. So to the young and vulnerable online bullying will be a big factor that they will face wether they instigate or are victim to. Not only does cyber bullying happen at schools, colleges, workplaces or home. But you are reminded of it everyday as the digital footprint is now emended in the time line of your social life.
This is where things can go extremely wrong.
In a recent poll 39% of online users have experienced a form of cyber bullying.
25% of children that are bullied will not speak up to anyone about it.
That equates to 1 in 4 children throughout the world that will be suffering in silence.
Self harm and suicide do to online harassment and bullying is on the rise and it is not just the young we should be worried about.

How many times have you searched for something online and then social media is now throwing it back in your face as you browse.
Try it for yourself...
Search for something in google (or similar search engine) and look through the results. Then go on your so ail media pages and you will see that very thing you searched for hit you in the face.
My point is, what if you had mental issues like depression, stress or anxiety. What if what you or someone you know where searching for ways to cope with bullying or suicide. Would social media really filter out such images and links to not subject a persons mind any further.
See we are forever compounding the problem of subjection and ridicule when it comes to social networks.
What can we do? 🤔
Be Kind
Listen to what people are saying. Take some time to speak with your friends, peers, loved ones and most importantly your children.
Ask yourself or others, What has upset you on social media this week and how can you avoid that the next?.
It only takes a small act of kindness from everyone to completely start a positive feel on social media. We are the digital anti-biotic and we can heal the bad blood.
