clearly sold it to get himself out from under the ponzi scheme he created with his 40% APR "deposit" bullshit. If you look over his old articles, where he talks about "which goods should he buy" with the money people had sent him, you'll find this article particularly ironic:

Yeah...stealing people's money is a "new concept," alright. This is the kind of shit that will cause (more) regulation to be thrown up around crypto, making it harder for real people with real ideas to navigate all the red tape.
