
OSEMWENDE 1816
The crown prince name of Osemwende was Erediawa. He had a brother by name Ogbebor who usurped the throne from him. He took refuge at Evbokhimwin. Later Ogbebor was defeated. Ogbebor reigned for only eight months. A notable figure in Benin history who lived during Osemwende reign was Iyase Nohemwen. He was so rich that he did not know the number of slaves he own.
About 1818, the Akure war broke out as a result of the murder of Osague, the Oba's envoy to Akure by the Deji of Akure.
