I attended a Boston party in Los Angeles yesterday. The annual Berklee alumni brunch celebrated how the college has grown; merging with Boston Conservatory and having many partnerships with several programs. I was hoping to hear of developments with blockchain tech but they mentioned getting into AI. Maybe next year 😉
Of course, I brought up crypto conversation. My particular group of friends at my table didn't have anything newer than what my roommate throws me. We talked about working, jingle houses, the scene. Everyone is building, maybe not yet living their perfect ideal life, but everyone is relatively happy and moving forward.
Steve Vai gave an inspiring keynote address and brought me back to my "why".
Music is a platform and a voice to how I translate myself to my world. I tell my students that they may go on to be attorneys, doctors, community leaders; the skills they learn to grow their art and practice is what will connect them to others with sensitivity, graciousness, with an an ear and eye for subtlety. Art gives people a medium to be purposeful in their determination and sensibilities.
My friend recorded the talk.

If you want to hear more Berklee keynote addresses, there are loads on YouTube. Maybe I will share a few favorites in the future.
To me, both music and crypto are global, able to connect people to exchange in positive ways, and make a path for peace. Music school was the most diverse environment I've ever been and steemit seems to be just as diverse.
Let me know in comments where you are from or what nationality you are. I would love to know.
