Why to visit AquaDom
AquaDom was completed in 2004. It is 25 meters high, and it weighs over 2,000 tons. Here you will be able to see a very special type of diving, because divers have to clean the aquarium three or four times a day. There’s a glass elevator, which will take you through AquaDom’s one million liters of saltwater. That’s a truly unexpected experience. You can see 1,500 fish and 97 species through the acrylic glass.
Sea Life Center is also colorful and exotic. It offers feeding demonstrations and temporary exhibitions, like Jurassic Seas or Interactive Rockpool. Sometimes, you can get closer to underwater creatures, or even touch some animals, if you’re ready to get wet. Highlights of the exhibition are sharks, catfish, octopuses, seahorses and eagle rays. Don’t miss one of the most interesting parts of the collection, a beautiful Neptune’s mirror maze.
Significance of AquaDom
AquaDom, together with Sea Life Berlin, shelters rare species and rescues disabled marine creatures. This is one of the main goals of this organization, as a part of a global project. Moreover, AquaDom is a pioneer in seahorse breeding, and it houses nine different species.
