Olkhon is the largest island in lake Baikal. Living here just over 1,500 people, and from land transport are mostly used minivans for all-wheel drive "loaf". Here you can inexpensively rent a house and live in solitude, enjoying the beautiful views, eat fish soup from omul and throw into the water round the rocks. Does have its quiet and comfortable and all the fuss and problems go by the wayside.
