The Bible, as a sacred book, teaches in its texts the direct relationship between wisdom and prosperity. It is true that fools and ignorant people can often prosper due to particular favorable conditions, but when prosperity is not accompanied by the wisdom of God, that prosperity is ephemeral and temporary. Many empires, according to the Bible, prospered as long as their military power lasted and they were able to instill fear in their enemies. The Babylonian and Assyrian empires were a few examples of this fact, and just as they appeared, they disappeared in the same way. And this is an inexorable truth due to the existence of the ethical laws of the universe.
Wisdom, as a science applied to daily life, allows people to live in harmony with the ethical laws of the universe, because the science of God is precision and accuracy, and therefore happiness, peace, and prosperity are rewards of these eternal laws. Prosperity, in its true sense, is not an end in itself but a reward for human excellence. Understanding this is understanding spirituality in its true sense. It is for all these reasons that wisdom is so necessary for men, and those who ignore this fact are condemned to poverty. Faith, motivational processes as coaching, or good intentions are useless if men don't know how to make the right decisions.
And the Second Book of Chronicles recounts a clear example of how wisdom, power, and prosperity can harmoniously unite when wise men, as in this case King Solomon, rule in the name of the highest and most divine with these words: "He ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills" 2 Chronicles 9:26-27.
Solomon not only prospered and achieved great happiness, but he also passed on all these blessings to his people because wisdom is expansive, progressive, and gradual. A wise ruler ultimately inspires his people, and by enforcing equality before the law, he educates them and guides them along God's path.
