Classic Bike Trip.
The previous Saturday, 4 of us went on a nice motorbike trip, with our classic BMW's. I mentioned this is a previous post on an unexpected art find.
My brother's son also went with us, this was the first time that he joined us, although he had a more modern bike.
The morning did not start well as the fuel tap, on my bike, decided to dismantle itself when I opened it, before we even started. It was actually good that it happened at home as, I could fix it, and still go on the trip.
At the time the restriction on the sale of alcohol was still in effect, therefor, I just packed a nice cooler with some of my home brews!! (They just announced that the ban was lifted.) This is one of the advantages of an old classic, that still sports a carrier at the back!! The cool-bag, is actually also vintage as it used to be my moms, when I was still at school!!
This was our meeting point, we expected some more guys but in the end it was only the four of us. The gentlemen wearing the reflector jacket is already 81 years old, and he still drive an old classic bike, that starts with a kick starter!! (He however had to report back to his daughters at all stops to let them know all is still going well.)
Our first stop was at a friends house, who normally rides with us, but he stripped his bike to restore it, thus could not accompany us. He however did help us to reduce the stash of beer!!
We then drove to our first stop, which I already mentioned in my previous post, is not our normal stop as the normal stop was closed due to Covid-19.
Here all of us ate a breakfast bun, and we had some coffee!! The bun consisted of some tomato, bacon and eggs on a bun!! It tasted quite good. We then had a look at the art they had on display as written about in a previous post.
We then went to our 3rd stop, where we also had something to nibble on, and had some more beers, next to the side of the road. The road where we are standing is now used as a parking area and not used as a road any longer, as they have built a new road just next to it.
We really had a nice trip on the old bikes, we covered just more than 125km, on the old bikes without any issues, after the bad start early in the morning.
I hope you enjoyed the post, as much as I enjoyed this outing.
Stay Safe!
