asked me to do a little short bio for the Homesteader's Co-op community page and, just as I made the logo a bit too detailed, I also ended up making my bio a bit too long..!
So I re-wrote it, but then I thought that I might as well use what I wrote for something, so instead of just throwing it away, I'll let you know a little bit more about me here..!
me in Gibraltar with the biggest nasturtium plants I ever saw!
Bonus Biography about me...!
I have always had a great love of nature!
My father is a biologist and as a child he often took me to the forest and taught me about the plants, trees and animals. But I grew up in the city (Copenhagen) and in some ways I have always felt a disconnection to something vital. To nature both without and within.
I have never felt attracted to modern life and 8 hour workdays, and growing up I often found myself isolated in my own world of drawings!
I have always been drawing and have used art to create my own universe. As a teenager I started playing guitar and in my early twenties I left Denmark with my thumb, my guitar and my drawing book, and ended up travelling the world the next 10 years (with shorter or longer "home"-periods), making money playing music and drawing and hitchhiking.
While traveling I learned a lot more about wild edible plants and discovered breathtaking landscapes which all awoke a new love of nature in me.
I became a mother in 2014 and traveled and lived in a campervan, but soon started missing a deeper connection to places and people and to plant and follow my own seeds.
I feel that I have to heal the disconnection I felt growing up, by moving deep into nature and connect with the forest, while also connecting with people on more than a surface-level.
I therefore bought a big piece of land in a forest together with a couple of other people in December 2018 and here I wish to grow my roots and start an eco-village, because I believe in the power of community and connection!
That was the long short story. I boiled it down to this in the end:
I am a mother, a traveller and an artist who is in the process of creating a new home in a forest on an island in Denmark!
I have been drawing since I was little and always used art to create my own universes. As a teenager I started playing music and as an adult I started to recognise my love for nature and gardening. With these three cornerstones I am now creating a life and a home around myself and my son, and at the same time creating a bigger eco village to include community and cooperation!
I believe that we can create a beautiful life if we cooperate with nature and each other.
