There are different types of solid biofuels, in this publication we will talk about them. These biofuels can be obtained from forestry products, agricultural products and even urban solid waste.
-Pellets: are small compacted cylinders, using as material wood (in the form of sawdust), agricultural waste or urban organic waste. Their main use is heating, but they can also be used to generate electricity.
-Briquette: are cylinders or "bricks" of densified biomass larger than pellet size, usually from sawdust and sawmill shavings.
-Agroindustrial wastes: these wastes are obtained from the harvesting of an agricultural product, such as bagasse from sugar cane. Its main use is to generate electricity using steam turbines.
