I've decided to start posting again to my Hive blog. I became disenchanted after the Steem-Hive split and dropped away for a while. I still hope to find an active birding community on this platform.
I just got back from Medellin, Colombia where I got to see one of the newest species to be discovered, the Antioquia Brushfinch Atlapetes blancae
It was discovered as a specimen in a museum, and then found by a local birder on his family dairy farm. Super cool.
We found 4 individuals on the walk on the family farm, and there have been up to 150 birds located in total, making this a VERY RARE SPECIES indeed.
Good birding.
