Osprey, on High Cover Duty!
Sometimes, the best perspective is on high!
January's always bring change for me (and many others). For me, I work for myself, so each year, I stop and evaluate, where I've been and what's coming up. January's as good as any other month, and also, coincides with closing the corporate books, too. Timing works for me! While a quick look at the top level seems obvious, for me, I like to get up higher and really see the view to 10,00 feet, as they say.
Some parts of the business are good and some are slowing. I can point to some things locally, but, from the conversations I am having with a few others in our industry, it seems, some of the policies can be laid on the feet of the Federal Government and the indecision the policies are causing. AND this is all before we even begin to factor in the Shutdown. Frankly, Long term stability is the most important thing to big business and small. While every business wants to be hugely successful, most owners will gladly accept stability over volatility.

Anyway, for now, coming from a meeting recently, I spotted this little Osprey youth flying high cover near the harbor.
