A young Great Blue Heron has adopted me this week.
I've had to reassure my Great Egret friend, Saucy, that he is not being replaced. There is Saucy in the background.
Blue was suspicious of me at first. He "croaked" at me with a deep repeated noise from his throat and his beak would move up and down rhythmically.
After I spent about a half hour with him and Saucy he became less worried and more curious about me.
I made some fun whistling sounds to him and he started to come to me!
Blue has some interesting markings and colors.
He actually came so close to me I had to move back a bit. He seems nice, but he does have a dagger on his face!
You're my boy, Blue, you're my boy.
