Yesterday I was on a photography trip at the wetlands of the "Traun" River. There I found this black woodpecker searching for some insects in the old trees. I am not sure if he was lucky but the holes that I found where pretty amazing. How can such a small bird be so patient and pick a hole like that. He must have picked there a thousand times or even more to get a hole like this. Yesterday I had a very bad light situation so all the pictures I took are not that great that I expected. At least some of them are usable, but I prefer a day with a bit more light. There was no sun and if you are walking in the forest you barely have enough light to be able to shoot some nice pictures without bumping up the ISO too much.
But I am sure there will be enough beautiful days this spring where I can get some nice pictures of birds anyway.
